Hi, trying to find a set of wheels to suit a non boost 27.5e4 is proving a challenge for some reason.

I was looking for Shimano freehub to run 11sp but most seem the XD driver.

So, not having used this standard before, what's it all about? I've read various marketing stuff online and aside from it allowing a 10sp small cog, is there anything else to it?

Strangely, despite not having a set of wheels in my life with an XD driver, I do have 2 cassettes which I can't explain, but can use.

Assume no compatibility issues with running Shimano drive train?

Anything else I should know?

Yeah, it’ll run fine.
Cassettes are one piece, so no issues with misaligned shift ramps or figuring out which order to put individual sprockets on. Also no more gouged freehub splines.
Do make sure you grease or anti seize the threads though. I make sure I do this on all new bikes as they often come dry from factory and came be a beast to remove months or years later.
Cassettes are more expensive than Shimano but IME last a lot longer.

Yep, very much so. I was struggling with the more recent 11/12spd Shimano stuff just not lasting, particularly 2nd & 3rd, but I only just replaced the SRAM X01 Eagle on the MT after about 7000km which given the grit, slop and steep climbs (and heavy bike/rider) it deals with is very impressive. Not a pleasant replacement purchase it has to be said but at least it should last for another four years!

Sounds good then. Thanks. Just hope the 2 cassettes I have aren't too worn, they look hardly used aside from the black finish starting to go silver.
