Today's Ride

Out of the habit so I keep forgetting to post these. Yesterday. There and back again. 18 miles...again

This is part of the boundary wall on the River Don for Sprotbrough Hall - demolished in the 1920's. Note the 'V' made of bricks. This was done by a couple of guys rebuilding the wall a few days after Churchill's V for Victory speech, and, though very faint, a date of 24 7 41 can just be made out. It used to be possible to see their initials, but sadly they are long gone. The bricks used to be painted white. 20250801_094716.webp

Just a quick shopping trip into the Saturday market for some fruit and veg.

I had a choice to make, it was between two Konas...both aluminium frames, both drop bar bikes...what could they be?

It's the Kula vs the JTS.

Easton tubes

or Kona Racelight 7005

The Blue won out over the Green, mainly because I hadn't tried the Kula out yet.

When I got back my curiosity got the better of me and I weighed them both. Any guesses which was the lightest?
Answers in my next post.

Normal early Sunday morning ride, warm but overcast so a bit grey, decided to occupy myself at the back of the "peloton" with some pub cricket.

A quick two runs here

Controversial this one, how many for this. No actual pictures on the sign so dot ball.

OK I'm giving myself a generous 13! Pleasant ride on my Spa Audax but I had started out my M Steel, I had just put on a new chain though and a bad case of chain suck led to a swap out after 5 yards!

EDIT: Doh, I just worked out why the chain suck, I was still running a 10 speed chain from the previous set up, since switched from Ultegra 10s to Stronglight and Deore 8-speed and had not put on the new chain yet. Now rectified and working perfectly!
