Further to reply in other thread the rim size for a direct replacement is ETRTO 451 such as: https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/rims-20-451/ You might be pushed to find complete wheels in this size with a SA hub? Dawes Kingpins also used this size/hub so could yield donor wheels but also a very nice...

That's the wrong size for your bike...it 'might' work but it should have a '451' sized rim not '406' (both confusingly referred to as 20"). I'll post a link up in your thread...

Thank you and I'll definitely let you know if I get stuck but I'm hoping the stockpile can do it's magic! It's not going to be flash, 8 speed/triple, mostly LX M600 and possibly STX but that all makes a good riding and durable bike.

If the steel and the chrome are good keep em going - it's original and iconic. Not too many chromed steel rims around nowadays!

One of my old mukkas had a B52 bought new from Halfords, did 1000's of miles on it and loved it. He and the bike then emigrated to Australia with a woman. Unfortunately that didn't end up working out and he ended up coming back in with just a suitcase. He's never got over the loss of leaving...

Retrobrains, I've just bought these and (looking through the rattle can finish and the water) they appear to be a set of turbines but what's the deal with the solid sides (no machined pockets)? Does this make them early, late, downhill, anything else? Cheers!
