Vinegar works but quite slowly. I quite like using citric acid - cheap enough if buying a reasonable quantity.
Be nice to keep as much chrome as possible but depends how you want to use/store it. A wipe with an oily rag every couple of months does wonders!
It was all a happy accident when during the wheel build stud lock was accidently used instead of lubricant on the spoke threads. The only way to tension up the wheels was to twist the spokes. Et voilà, Bob's yer uncle!
Nice looking bikes for what they are. My uncle got one of these shortly after I got a Raleigh Quasar - I think he 'had' to go at least one up the range!
Has been offered to me recently but I'm not really a road bike rider and I think he'd want me to keep it.
My Quasar was stolen from the front...
