But better than a horse in all these respects, no need to feed it, no shit to shovel.

    1886 Premier

Ride- wise, it's more than a lot like a bicycle. They are comparatively heavy, and slow cadence was normal. Very slow handling, pi55-poor brake. As a rule on early steel crescent Rims, the spokes are steel, straight pull, Threaded into the hub flange, head in the rim. The development...

    1886 Premier

I'm currently making it rideable, but it will probably end in a museum. Imagine how fast you could ride on this in 1886 compared to your sporty mate on his silly old High Bicycle! The Aero TT piece of its day, but with better handling, comfort and braking to boot. The greatest leap forward...

Gumwalls are over-represented in the retrobike world.😉 Good on ya!

In the chepstow town museum, they have a few exhibits from the local cycling club: Including a couple of photographs from around 1886 when a few of the local cyclists had bought themselves the latest thing...a safety! In this image they are at the beachley coffee house, near where the Aust...

How much is my road bike (or parts of) worth?

Perfect analysis of ebay👍 Sadly often what we find turns out to be more common than we hoped.

QR Mtb and road hubs are the same fitting. Many top brands don't differentiate. As a rule mtb hubs are more substantial, stiffer, with better seals. Time to build yourself a road bike😉

Build a superlightweight radial front road wheel with it, aero cx-ray spokes. There are too many lateral forces with mtb, and that rim is way too beefy for a good match. You should be able to get a rim brake 700 rim for very little£ We've got loads old stock - every trad bike shop will be the...

B screw not moving jockey wheel away from cassette

Can you remove the derailleur and post a photo of the mounting bolt/ plate/bscrew area, like this? I think the chrome tab might be the wrong side of the cast alloy tab on the knuckle: It's hardto see if these are the wrong way round once the derailleur is attached. When reassembling the pivot...

Tyre life - what's wrong with this photo? ....

Schwalbe say they will do tyre recycling, but atm it's all done by Velorim in the uk. Costs about £100 for 4 bags you can perhaps get 25 tyres in each of they aren't too huge. Tube recycling you have to make an 18kg box and get a free label to drop off with UPS. No Slime!

Tyre life - what's wrong with this photo? ....

We get the odd hippy wanting Tubes to knit a basket, belt or slightly irritating jewellery, and the occasional horticulturist wanting to support fruit tree saplings, but given we produce 10kg of tubes a week, it's barely a scratch. Atm schwalbe offer free tube recycling, as long as we pack...

B screw not moving jockey wheel away from cassette

I know exactly what you mean. Is the chain tension rotating the whole derailleur forward so the b- screw is no longer touching the steel plate? Also, the chain tension can overcome the spring tension Alternately, is the tab on the plate correctly in contact with the derailleur hanger "stop"?

Fifty pound??? Let us hark back to the cheapskate bartape of using an old innertube🤯 Ideally with a couple of orange patches in the weave. Cheap bar tape and tube recycling covered in one easy move🤣
