2015 Austro-Daimler TT Carbon Limited.

The static fit-up is complete and I believe it's a good enough fit to complete the assembolism... And so it starts...
Things were going according to plan until I started the internal routing of the extension bars... The bars were drilled for internal routing... Just not deep enough (Legendary Zipp Quality)... So they're blind holes and of course and I can't find a 4mm drill bit in the metric index so that job waits until tomorrow.
I did work up the courage to trim the extension bar to the correct length with room for minor aft adjustment.

The Brooks Cambium C13 saddle was installed at 2 degrees nose down with the saddle nose on the bottom bracket center line. There is a slight crown in the saddle cover, this disappears with about a 20 lb load applied I assume this is a cooked in design feature of the saddle.

So this fit is not about comfort, it's about conforming to what the gods of aerodynamics demand. A applicable picture of a god of aerodynamics is shown below...

Strap in. It's going to be a wild ride.

How time flies it's been a week already, as usual work gets in the way of a good time, overtime does have it's advantages, it buys bike parts and kit...

So minor progress has been made, the Zipp extension bars survived the drilling of the internal cable routing holes, we are going to try to complete the cable installation by Sunday.

So where did the money go...

I went helmet shopping, this is on the way, HJC Adwatt Time Trial helmet.
It was the winner of what works vs what does it cost competition...

I bought a cheap and cheerful skin suit from China, It was money not well spent...

So this time I'm shopping for serviceable kit with a good reputation.
This is a "The Black Bibs" (https://theblackbibs.com/) Skin Suit, "The Ultimate Time Trial Skin suit". It's on the short list and is also a value/cost balance winner. Still not ready to commit yet...

The Fit Chronicles...
Todd Carver co-founder of Retül and head of Specialized Bicycles Human Performance has a great Time Trial fit article on British Cycling.

I have spent most of my life not knowing exactly what I'm doing while working on fairly complex stuff, bike fitting is no different.
This article is excellent because it defines what the objectives are in every step without additional B.S. that complicates and and confuses what the goals actually are.

Where I Have Screwed Up...
The selection of a short nose time trial saddle was a mistake because I made a assumption that the frame was modern enough to accept that item...
WRONG. Test fitting a old Selle Flite saddle transformed the fit and comfort of the bike.
So a new long nose saddle is needed and I decided to actually do the job right and measure my sit bones which worked out to be 110mm. This bit of information was a eye opener as AI says...
AI Overview
"For 110mm sit bone width, a saddle width of 130-135mm is generally recommended."
So let's go shopping... After sorting through everyone's 130mm ish saddles from everywhere a decision was made...
A Brooks Cambium Carbon 132mm wide, 262ish grams (for comparison purposes a Selle Flite weighs 190 grams), rubber and cotton suspension saddle that should help making the hell for stiff frame more liveable.
A Brooks saddle wont be everyones first choice but in this situation I think it's a viable choice. Also it was cheap and cheerful at $89.00 as no one wanted a saddle that narrow, but I do...

In other news...
The Bob Jackson 853 Audax Club was selected as the bike to flog for training as it has full lighting and the computer is installed.

Have A Perfect Sunday,
That's All For This Evening: Mike
