Show us your 700C ATB / MTB / Hybrid

Glad you pointed that out mate I thought 27 inch were the same as 700 racer wheels I had a feeling I would have to run the skinny MTB tyres so next question is is there another adapter for 700 or is this possible with out changing forks just so I know both scenarios thanks
26 to 700 will def need an adaptor. I’ve a Mavic adaptor on the rear of my Saracen, so that it can run 700c wheels rather than 26, think they are 28x700c tyres, with not a huge amount of clearance.

The tire clearance in the front and back is very much dependent on the fork and the chainstays. I have been lucky to run 700x38c on some of my setups, the front fork being the more limiting. Trial and error approach is best for most optimal results as you are building a sub optimal setup.

It's more to do with amount of wheels I have seen that are 700 and what rims and hubs are on them and priced compared to 26 inch its crazy so I thought let's see what can be done

Here's my Trek 700. Such a fun bike to ride single track and light mtb trails. It's an eclectic build of leftover bits from previous bikes consisting of Campy Avanti, Veloce and Record titanium 8 speed with Pedersen SE canti's W/Kool Stops and some Ritchey bits and Pro handlebars. As for tires they are Clement PDX & MDX 700X33'S.

Fun fact, I'm running a Shimano freehub with a SRAM 8 speed cassette that I took apart and replaced the spacers with some from a Miche Campy 8 speed cassette and it shifts like a dream.

Hello fellow riders. First post here. Some really nice builds in this thread. I'd like to share my '96 GT Talera. It was bought new by me as a low spec (Alevio) 3x7 bike and has many thousands of miles on her. It's seen several builds over the years. Once even as a single speed big BMX. It's a 21.5" frame and I still have all the original parts cleaned and stored. I've recently rebuilt her again with Redshift drop bars, Clarus brake/shifters, 1x Raceface crankset, thread-less chro-mo fork, and 700-38c tires. I left the existing 9 speed XTR rear derailleur and 11-36 cassette. Wheels are cheap trainer wheels for now. I have a set of NOS Mavic Heliums waiting to be mounted, just can't decide on a tire. This is probably the best build yet. It's a blast to ride and gets comments all the time while on the trails. The pic is from the first tune in ride. I've since chopped the steering tube down by 25mm. Brakes are Origin 8 V-brakes with pull converters. They'll throw you off the bike when in the drops, but leave a little to be desired when on the hoods.

Edit: Brifters are Shimano Sora. I had fishing reels on the brain when I typed Clarus.
