Got this 1992 Diamond Back override hybrid for $20. I will strip it apart, clean, and keep it mostly original. I will however get new seats, brake pads, and tan walled tires. I also have a front basket to mount.

Have 1 myself with pretty worn decals.
It was my first attempt to recreate them with my sticker plotter; now they are minty colorored

Kinda wish I kept it, a 700c steel Kona looks cool

hiya, ive just my hands on one, from fork is a disk fork though... what fork should it be, head bearing size and steerer length, if you know, would be great as i can look for one. any idea what rims and hubs, cheers mark

Yeah, I've noticed vintage Diamond Backs have the stickers above the clear coating. Any tips on how to stop them from degrading further?

Ok mate I am right in thinking then if I put one of these on a 26 inch frame front and back I can put 27 inch rims on it do you need to change forks or do 26inch forks have enought clearance cheers

I unfortunately do not know if they would work for a 27" rim. There might be a specific product to fit that wheel size, but the mavic bridge was made to fit 700c

700c wheel should fit in a 26" fork. Will be fine with a smaller road tyre. You probably won't ft a MTB tyre though.

He needs to be sure that the brakes will line up before worrying about tire size. 27 rims and 700 are not the same diameter, the brake post adapter piece he is talking about will need to be 27" specific

If he uses the Mavic piece which he asked about, pads will be off the rim. 27 is 8 mm bigger than 29 somehow?

I'm assuming @baron von greenback means 700c not 27" - @MattiThundrrr the diameter difference is 8mm, but your diagram makes the difference look bigger as all wheels are 'on the floor', in terms of the brake track, they're only 4mm different

Glad you pointed that out mate I thought 27 inch were the same as 700 racer wheels I had a feeling I would have to run the skinny MTB tyres so next question is is there another adapter for 700 or is this possible with out changing forks just so I know both scenarios thanks
