…I’m working on the bike in the spare time to get ready for the aforementioned event. I cleaned it, degreased everything, lubricated what was meant to be (farewell greasy grips). I still have some fine tuning and polishing to do but I agree with most of you who suggested to keep the patina. Sadly, the Panaracer Darts I ordered are a bit late and I’m really scared to ride it on the Michelin I bought it with.

I can’t believe I finally managed to test ride it. I replaced the rim tape, new tubes and tyres. It still needs some tune up and a lot of polishing but it looks amazing to me!

Lovely bike, I think a pair of self extracting crank bolts would make a good addition.

Thanks. Since you brought it up, I was wondering whether the crank bolts were original since the 88 catalogue shows the Browning crank. I should have some Deore caps somewhere, that might do as well…

Looks great with the natural patina. It's a real pity that Ground Control tyres that it would have come with are impossible to get hold of cheaply now.

Please though, remove the plastic dork disk!

Yellow label Ground Controls would be the perfect finishing touch and definitely no dork disc, dork discs are a no no

100% with you there! It’s in amazing nick, wear your dork disc with pride!!!

Normally they go yellow and super brittle due to UV exposure.

I’m sure there must be a thread about dork discs and whether they should be removed or not…
