The actual definition of retro is 1988-1998 I’m not sure if it moved but it hasn’t in the past few years so categories are spot on. I normally call any bike past 1988 vintage and after that retro. If it’s after 1998 then it’s just a bike🙂
The definition of 'retro' is something that imitates or harks back to styles of the past, e.g. a brand new bike that takes design cues from older bikes. What we're usually talking about on here are vintage bikes and occasionally, perhaps, antique bikes, and most definitely old bikes. Very rarely are we discussing 'retro' bikes in the true sense of the word. However, 'Retrobike' sounds a bit better than 'Old bike'.

I don't think we need new cut off points or anything because last time I mentioned it I felt a negative aura surround me and nobody needs that hostility

Personally I have made it my mission to almost exclusively use the 98 section, I feel like I'm dusting the cobwebs off the retired town whore
🤣😂
