Today's Ride

^^^ Looks good. Where is it?
Swinley Forest. It can be a good ride depending when I visit. Forget weekends as just full. The red route is being ruined by the people who run/maintain the trails. They are sanitising parts with sand and running board. Wish people would leave things alone.

Busy couple of days coming up so thankful for another beautiful morning ride. It's days like this where all my gripes about endless fog, rain or gales disappear into the ether. Cool 6 degrees a little warmer in the sun, light NE breeze, high cloud, the odd patch of blue sky.

Mousehole was quiet after the Easter weekend and it was far too early for any holiday makers to be out and about. Decided to take Chywoone Hill just for the hell of it out of Newlyn around the corner.

I remember climbing out of Mousehole with full panniers on my Lava Dome and was thinking of stopping, (just to admire the view of coarse), just as a coachload of German tourists were walking down, they parted to either side of the road and clapped and cheered me all the way to the top. Great memory, great place.

The two Vagabonds.
Bagpuss awheel with his mate David.
Two of us headed south east out of Ram City and heading for Quorn . {sounds like a veggie meal} .
Our outward route took as through Elvaston Castle ,Shardlow and Kegworth .A cool head breeze made it a tad chilly to start with . Spining down quite roads thro Sutton Bonnington & Normanton on Soar . These two villages have some fine old buildings . Onto Barrow on Sour .
Stopping at Quorn Station for lunch .{Geart Central Railway } An old Diesel and a Steamer made the setting complete .

The slog out of Wood house Eves made for a good climb . The rest of ride took us via Belton and into Breedon on the Hill . A tea stop in Melbourne followed . From here we rode along the old railway and canal route and back to Ram City . DSCN1775.JPG DSCN1777.JPG DSCN1778.JPG DSCN1779.JPG DSCN1780.JPG DSCN1783.JPG DSCN1784.JPG DSCN1786.JPG
