Today's Ride

That Surly looks rad!
Thank you.

There's a few things that need to be fixed. I need to get rid of the tensioner, it didn't use to have one, but I had to use a tensioner for the ride as I didn't have any quick links laying about (where the hell did they go?) and I need to redo brake wires and perhaps throw a Brooks B17 on there. It rides amazingly well, my first 700c bike and probably the only one I'll ever have that's 700c. Love it.

Longest ride this year at over 25 miles.....I know.... put tried to keep off roads much as possible soooooo......haha. even worse shorts and managed to not get stung which is always a bonus. Not sure if age, health or low ambition has kicked in, just didnt feel the need to push my speed or anything, nice to plod along though.

Today's ride was wetter, but still very mild. Bit of a breeze but nothing too substantial. Went through one of my local towns in this hilly, agricultural area. Midway there's a little bit of woodland which has a trail that goes round in a loop, did that and returned home to a dram of Caol Ila

Good Friday and good riding conditions: 17°C, sunny, shorts and T-shirt weather. It was too good to miss, so I went springtime cruising for 30 miles, over the Crab and Winkle Way, the outskirts of Whitstable and to Faversham—then back again. With the warmth in the air, the blossom on the trees, lambs in the fields, bees buzzing, the hedgehogs out of hibernation, signs of rejuvenation all around, it's easy to see why Plato used the Sun as a simile for the Good. It was nice out.

Those tracks look incredibly dry, lovely. Nice view from the peak as well, and what a gorgeous bike.
