I am finally going to get on with rebuilding the Saracen Conquest* 501 in a slightly custom cruiser / light tourer fashion:

* correct me if I'm wrong, I'm only assuming it's a Conquest.

Regardless, I will be needed the following (check LGF's link for reference and bear in mind that I'm a tightwad and am looking to trade stuff for this lot) in '80s silver alloy wherever possible:

- wide silver alloy bars - riser or something interesting
- RH Shimano index 7 speed thumbshifter - I've various shifters to swap

RAF bikes has made a similar offer (ie Mountain LX stuff) and I'm expecting some pictures tonight)... so thanks fellas!

mountain LX is LX or something like M550 - MT-60 had better finish chainset and mechs.

£30 inc UK P&P for whats here (missing middle ring)

Plus £10 if you want the combined thumbshifters/ brake combo

plus another £30 inc P&P for wheels

or £60 inc P&P for the whole caboodle.

Interested but I have a few queries...

I take it the the mechs and chainset will be OK for 7 or 21 speed? Hope so as my mid '90s 7 speed wheels are ok for now.

Looks like all the chainrings are missing though :lol: chairing bolts I have aplently so no bother there but what BCD are the outer rings on the chainset?

I want separate shifters and brake levers (positioning and ease of running it single ring - considering something like a 38 tooth Stronglight) so would like a gander at the Sachs ones, are they friction only? Cheers, Al
