Well it had to come out some time i suppose, that's who HAS done this job.

One potential customer lost here.
I hope they sort it for you. I find it impossible to imagine how the hell that ever got approved by the bossman.

Phone Adam up he'll sort it straight away there work has always been flawless before and in 10 years of knowing them this is the first bad job iv'e seen and iv'e sent loads of frames forks and parts there when i was at the bike shop the brake bosses arn't a problem to sort (stanley knife carefully trim) but agreed it does need re-finishing.


did you pick it up yourself if so why didn't you point it out to him straight away. And if Adam had seen it it wouldn't have left the yard trust me on that he is a perfectionist. not making excuses for him but it was proberly an over sight just go down there and show him the problems and he'll re-finish it.


i mean all my frames have been perfect and many other retrobikers have used them so give em a shout im sure Adam will fix it asap mate

It even looks like you can see rust breaking through the coating around the bosses. I paid £75 for a frame, fork and stem to get done and whilst the finish wasn't great, nothing like that, and from a company that didn't usually do bikes. Absolute shocker yours is, I would certainly suggest they redo it, if they don't want their reputation to be further damaged on this forum. Just mention powder coat, aerocoat.net, bike etc a few ore times in this thread, and it will be up near the top of search results, which is not what they will want at all, but inevitable unless you can post some good news and some pics of a nicely finished frame!

That's one place I will cross off my list forever. That sort of finish is inexcusable even if it's a rare one off. What sort of idiot would think 'yeah, that'll do'. Get it stripped and refunded and never darken that places door or trouble them with your money again. I got a better finish from a guy on an industrial estate who normally does radiators; he charged me a tenner and he knew not to apply paint where paint was not previously applied.

If the bloke in charge didn't notice how bad that was at any point through the process (be that when the prep wasn't done, the paint was over applied, when the brake studs weren't left clean, when the lacquer was over applied or when the frame was handed over with a straight face) then I wouldn't trust him to sit the right way on a toilet, let alone re-do that frame.

Aerocoat, powdercoat, shocking pile of shite. Done.

I was thinking of getting one of my frames done by them. A re-think is in order.
