My P2 Fork is threaded right to the top of the Impact headset, No extra period! I would keep it long? Never know when you might decide on a different headset.

funny you should say... i've decided to leave it and put in a new headset with a higher stack height.. the impact is getting rough already (well, after 20+ years!)
 
well.. good and bad news

i built up the bike and cabled up the brakes last night and took it for a good spin. The good news its a cracker. Rides lovely, happy with how its coming on.

The bad? its just too effin' small.

Yeap, IMO they run a little on the small side even though the front triangle looks stretched out. at a little over 6'1 my 19" is a tad small even with a long quill stem.

I'll sell off mine when a find a bigger frame.
