Thanks chaps, all this talk of filler is making me go green, as the car has just failed MOT due to rust..... :facepalm:
Frame is going back for a full refund plus my postage. Total pain as this was going to be my project for over this weekend :roll:

Sadly Kas are famous for it, more steel is used in a BSO than by by ford to make them.
Re frame, you definitely confirmed it crack? If there is a vent hole in stay, you could blow air into it and see bubbles when stay is under water, easier said than done (or baking soda followed by vineger to create co2 then cover up hole, some water washing up liquid over crack)
This assumes crack is large enough to let air through.
Im surprised seller wants it back, if cracked, what use it it.
Overall it is a pain as well as a disappoimted, eat a few choccy eggs to make up for it or better still go for a ride, weathers good.

Yes, I was surprised he wanted it back too, but it came from a house clearance type seller on eBay who by his own admission, knew very little to nothing about bikes....perhaps I'll suggest he just refunds me and I keep it for growing my beans up! Certainly I wouldn't want to start messing about trying to fix it, I've a steel frame I can build up for now.
Agree about the Ka's, I knew it couldn't last for much longer as it got through on a wing and a prayer last year. So I've bought a Fiesta instead...ha ha!
I'll start riding a lot more again this year and use the car less for work if it's cycling distance. Unfortunately though I'm working all this weekend and I've still not got a bike built up to use.... :facepalm:
