Raleigh Dyna-Tech Pro

……..and it’s finished, ready for a Sunday morning ride tomorrow as long as there is no sign of any rain!

Considering quite a lot of the parts I used are a little bit imperfect I’m pleased with the finish.

Everything has had a thorough strip and clean. With a few hours of cleaning at micro level having been stripped down even the brakes came up ok, they are the best parts of 3 pairs! I bought some Tricolor decals when I bought the new button stickers for the shifters, they’ve improved the look of some of the components that were getting a bit ratty.

In the case of the front mech have made a Dura Ace 7800 into a 6400 Tricolor. I realised I needed a band on mech and this one came up at a fiver posted and I already had the decal.

I’ve really been trying to keep the costs down on this one. I didn’t have a spare new 8 speed cassette and didn’t want to risk having on old one jump with a new chain. So ended up splitting a new 9 speed and a used 8 speed, taking a cog out of the 9 and the spacers out of the 8 it now shifts and rides perfectly.

Beauty

You must be a very tall man🤔

Looks great, smart sober colours if you know what I mean. I really like this bar shape too.

The brifters look to be mounted a bit low on the bar though?
Thank you for the kind comments.

I can see how they look a bit low, I’ve had comments on my bar position before! I just go with what’s comfortable for me. I get my seat height set up first then go with what’s comfortable for the tops then the hoods. On most of my bikes that ends up just below the top of the stem. I rarely ride on the drops, I guess the lower hood position is a compromise.

It does look great. How are you enjoying the ride?
Not ridden it any distance yet. I was all set for the Sunday morning after I finished it, had laid all my kit out ready. Didn’t happen! Hopefully get some miles in later in the week.
