Sorry about the multiple posts ....I find adding pictures on here really difficult... The last picture shows how it is now all stripped

I live for multiple posts :D . All your content is great and I like your project, so what are your plans for this bike, is this a restoration or are you taking it somewhere more restomod, what's your vision of the completed project?

Re:

Hi Mike, unfortunately this is the only other picture I have on my system. When I get it down from the loft later this year I'll post some more pictures.

Please post a picture of your project as it progresses, it'd be interesting to see how you get on.

Thanks,

Chris

Thanks mike (from another mike) ...I'm looking to do it vintage all the way. I've a catalogue scan detailing the components used, I've managed to collect most of them... The frame will be proffesionaly sprayed & re-chromed

@AlfTupper ...that's brilliant, I knew there was 'something' at the top of those stays, replacements are probably unavailable but good information & I can see now it was lug lined in white (I thought it would have been gold) I have noticed that yours has a different fork crown to mine ...wonder which one is original

@AlfTupper - It's a bit of a long shot replying to a 7 year old post but... your original pictures are no longer showing. It would be great to see them.

@Daddybus - I also have a Sun Maillot Jaune frame & forks very similar to yours. I've only just bought it this week of eBay. It has different bottom bracket lugs and the fork crown is chromed (but the same shape as yours). I also notice that the bicycle pump holder pegs are on the top tube.
I was amazed how light it felt. I'd be interested to hear if you ever got your frame chromed & painted ?

The tapered chainstays are what caught my eye with this frame. Most frames use a fly press to indent clearance in the chainstays for the tyre. This has a bespoke tapered chainstay. On some of the tubes I can read the word "Reynolds" through the paint, which I thought unusual (i.e. etched onto the tube) - the paint is very thin. I'm not sure yet whether the whole frame was chromed, then painted over?

I've yet to weigh this but I read that there was a lightweight division where the bikes were given an 'L' serial number. Or maybe it is the year?
Just need to shop for the rest of the bike next!

Now weighed:
Frame with "Stuck" seat pin = 2.34 Kg (I'd estimate 150-200g for a seat pin, so this really is a lightweight steel frame)
Forks = 865g
