Old Italian Columbus frame!

There's a lot of rumour about 'Gilco' tubing. I don't know the full story but the company produces tubing in various shapes and configurations for more applications than you can shake a stick at. The name comes from GILberto COlombo, who was part of the family that owned the tube mill which produced Columbus brand tubing. After WW2 he set up his own company - Gilco - working with both Maserati and Ferrari to produce race car chassis. He then branched out into architecture and sail boat design before buying his own tube mill from where he produced tubing in various cross-sections and patterns, not just the Tipo S4 beloved of Colnago which is often referred to as 'Gilco'.
