The reason for the sale is?

Just that I have mostly Bianchi's and a new Specialissima X4 Argentin dropped into my lap last week - too many bikes and not enough hooks. - nothing more sinister than that

Christ. Another two pages since I last checked in.

Let’s just say it’s a lemon.

My old europa was closer.

Did you remove the useless short mudguards, chain guard and saw off the Weinmann suicide levers to make it proper racey?

I swear, you would go from Mach 1 to Mach 2 down the local 1 in 4 descent.

Re:

That bianchi has got me thinking.
I had something very similar. Same colours and transfers which I bought new around 1996. I'm not sure which model it was, but it differed in that it had a threadless steerer/headset. The fork crown was similar. It had the same embossed emblem on the top of the crown, but didn't have the word bianchi round the side of the crown. I still have those forks somewhere. The rear dropouts were semi vertical with threading in the side to take a rack. And the faces of the dropouts were chromed, not painted. It was SLX throughout and underneath the paint was all nickel (too dull for chrome) plated

The nickel plate and lacquer finish weren’t so durable. Most had problems
