MY 1994 MARIN BEAR VALLEY SE

Very sweet. I got serious into MTB's in '93 and my local bike shop was Raging Isle in Oahu. They were a Marin dealer and I remember the rows upon rows of them and became a Marin fan. I bought a '94 Muirwoods myself. It had the same cool stem with the cable roller. It was stolen a few months later. Your bike is mint, very nice.

Oh, and that bike is a good candidate for purple bits :D

Thanks for the comments.
Found and installed some brand new Umma Gumma tires.
Same year as the bike and the price was right.
I am still going to look for the right priced Ritchey tires.
Not sure if I really like the grey....
Bought and installed a Ritchey saddle.
Perfect.
Changing the grips to a different model Ritchey that are all black.
Current ones seem to have to much white.
They were originally intended for a different bike (sold it) anyway.
New pictures soon.

Love it, my brother had a '95 nail trail. If you decide to change the tires and want to sell the specialized I'd be interested.

Re:

Decided on a saddle.
Ritchey Comp Contrail.
Wasn't happy with the price.
Oh well, it's done.

Re:

Changed out the grips to a more subtle version.
Ritchey Truegrip.
The plan is to detail the logo in white.

Re:

Tires.
Just can't get past the looks of the grey and gumball.
I'm going for the Ritchey Z-Max WCS Premonition.
(cyclotoine - send me a PM)
Next is to install the STX SE headset that I have.
After that, I just need some decals and this bike will be done.
BEAR VALLEY SE, the us flag, head tube Marin logo are the main decals I want, and the other saddle tube ones - if I find them, good. If not, I'll live with it. Mind you, I will keep looking for a Marin Lite saddle and the proper bash guard. And if I come across the STX SE pedals for the right price, I will grab them, but I won't use them, since for my use, I will only need flats.

So, this is what it looks like now.
It's not perfect by any stretch.
It has a few marks here and there - signs of its character.

Re:

I love this bike. I put tanwalls on my 96', but not fussed on them to be honest. Got a pair of all black kenda to go on now instead
