Hi All

Does anybody know how to go about identifying paint codes for Marin? specifically 1993 models, E.g. the Eldridge grade (what an absolute beauty this one is ...) or Bear Valley.

This will help me decide if I strip the paint and go for brand new or not.

Thank you

Most paint mixing companies or car body shops can analyse paint colours and get a match.....but you will need a sample.....its how old cars get sprayed, as years of sun will have changed it from the stock colour.

We used Movac group.....

The other option is a RAL swatch.

If you don't have a sample, then its really going from what others have used....or paint info from the maker....but that is rare as most are custom mixes.

Thank you Tootyred

Can the sample be the frame itself, or the fork?

Once they analyse the sample would they create the paint? If that's the case that means I can use cans of spray and have to go with a pro painting it with a compressor/paint gun?

Yes....provided it fits under their machine!

You can then get the paint put into rattle cans or in tins for use in a booth.
