Re: Kona Caldera 1997 - unicorn scenes

What a result! :) I'm chuffed for you!

I did a bit of research on this elusive model earlier and found a post from last year with you saying you wanted one Al, so it's a great result! Looking forward to reading the story!

Well I’ve known about this for 10 days or so.

I may have been privileged to the news of this find because Al guessed;
a)How stoked I would be to see this, b)How pleased I would be for him to own it, and c) That I may also be able to shed more light on this elusive beast.

I have certainly come up trumps with the first two, and have been sending him encouraging PMs since I first found out about it. I may have vaguely managed the last one too!

I have also been given a snippet of information regarding the frames production, but Al will reveal all soon enough.
We need to see those pictures.

Re:

Cheers Pip :) Your part in the story will be told.

Quick update: she's in one piece and damage free. Proper good packing.

Serial number time. Ready for this?

As far as I know that's the first evidence we've seen of a specific Caldera prefix. mrdryskull's has a Hot prefix if I recall.

September 96 #46 of what was almost certainly 50 (in the US).

More to come :)

Cheers Al.... and blimey! what a surprise on the frame's serial number.

Your are correct with regards to mrdryskull's Hot prefix. Looks like H09607034 to me, but I'm sure he'll be along soon to confirm.
