It’s quite a spectacle. About a thousand riders start together and bottle neck through the town.

If you look carefully you can see my house. The shed is being raided.

these are worth a gander as well if you've got 20 mins to kill,

The left hand gate post in the closing seconds of this this one ended up claiming skin off my hip

Re:

That's the Endorphin with the wide bars, at 560mm. 530s on the other one. Sachs Waveys didn't miss a beat that day, despite their cheapness and the fact they're slated by many on here.
Similar weather would be excellent this time.
Narrowed it down to two bikes

Mike

Left hand gatepost? Call yourself a racer? You should be grazing yourself on the right hand one, my old mucker!

I've got a soft spot for Sachs Wavey shifters. They weigh nothing & I've never had any issues with them.

Shifts might not be quite as crisp as a well set up trigger shifter, but pah!

 Your right...

At the end of the event (admittedly of only the 50k) and on the long homeward bound slope hanging on to the bars with digitally challenged hands, I was decidedly secondhand and carried way too much speed in to that corner.
My arse was twitching like a badgers nose when I realised there was a gate post there..

I was riveted to the screen watching and waiting to see what he did...

I guess I'm just crap ...

I cried off at the tea stop and went home. Hand was completely trashed. Fingers still lock out occasionally. Never got it strapped.

Gutted not to even manage the 50.

Re:

To be fair, the 100 isn't a lot harder. There's a fair amount of road riding, so chance to recover from any battering you're getting off road

That is definitely worth knowing. I'd be pissed if I'd decided to do the 50 & found that out after.
