NO !

That's my opinion to Mike as i'd rather have a nice set of Vs ..

Well if your having Mavic rims with XT hubs then i'd compliment it with an XT groupset and besides i think the XT looks nicer than ESP but that's just my opinion ..

Re:

I'm considering some XTR V Brakes as they are very light and have great power. I already have mostly XT components. But have an LX chainset and it looks really heavy. Think I will swap that with a much lighter race face one I have and save some weight.

Ritchey WCS, pinched from another bike ( replaced with FSA ), along with Rock Shox SID, pinched from another. Those will be replaced with freshly rebuilt SIDs.

Still can't decide on shifter/brake lever set up. Either way it will have red grips.

V-Brakes are very similar grey finish to the levers.

Possibility of a different stem to the Syncros one pictured, too.

Get XT Thumbshifters they are way better.

I have two pairs of XT thumbies on bikes, a spare pair, a set of XT sti levers the same as the ones pictured, and ESP, also like the ones in the other photo.

Of them all, the thumbies are the last ones I'd put on this build , TBH

But thanks for your views ;)

Re: Singletrack mind ! Giant MCM Team

The yellow Gripshift all the way Mike!

Re:

The weight saving on Thumbshifters is significant over STI. Thumbshifters also support 8 speed with an extra click.
