Mrs HM keeps asking me what I want under the tree. Last year it was the ipad that kept me amused. Serious suggestions for a gadget/toy not necessarily bike related, that she could get for me to stop me killing the inlaws this year?

For your budget, I would be very surprised if you couldn't pick up a hero hd2 kit in as new condition and with a few spares / mounts / accessories etc

A hd2 is essentially a 'silver' if you are comparing picture quality and settings to the hd3 range.
