Sounds a good idea to lace up with a spare set and guage the proper length, might try that on the back before using the new ones, as spa will take returns so long as not already been on the rim. I'm pretty sure the lacing is correct, I did it with the method in Schraners book, and I've reread Sheldon Browns page and it seems right.
