my daughter gets her first bike this christmas! we are struggling money wise so got a shi@!er for free and have been doing it up. also building her an eisel and my other little'un is onlly 10 months so is getting loads of boxes of balloons and bits, kids respond to volume and textures rather than what the gift is....

That's a great idea! My daughter was just around 10 months last Xmas, and probably would have had a blast opening a box full of colourful balloons and bits. Good thinking!
