Alves 531 Fillet Brazed

Picked her up yesterday from the throughly nice THM.

Staggering workmanship, I've never seen a fillet brazed frame first hand before but this really is impressive.

Re:

I have seen this in the flesh, it a corker

If I hadn't bought 2 bikes recently I would have snapped it up, looking forward to seeing the build.

Re:

Small update. The frameset is still at work but hopefully should be back home soon and I can finally make some real progress.

Nitto Noodle bars arrived. The stem has a 25.4 so out came the adjustable reamer and now bars and stem are perfectly mated together.

I test fitted them to to my Joe Waugh that has the same headtube and toptube measurements. The position seems about right. Slightly higher and shorter stem with longer reach bars.

I also cleaned up the adjusters on the Paul Minimoto brakes as they were a little butchered form using the incorrect tool I presume.

They really are a work of art in form and simplicity of function.

Re:

While I was in the workshop I also added a bit of drillium to the rear Exage U-brake for a bit more of the homegrown look...
