I bought a decent looking GT iDrive 1000 frame and after buying a few bits off here and having the pace forks serviced by Tim i was good to get the build started. Most people do a few photos but i thought i would be a bit different and do a video of the build.
The only modern parts is the 10sp drive chain and the tyres.

have a look at the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GjJd1hIRMSM

need to find where to source parts for 99 GT XCR 1000 any ideas ? , also compatible front forks ive read these posts and am none the wiser , any help please.

BETD sell stuff for the XCR. Mine needed a full bearing and bushing build - i took it to BETD and they did all the work for me including fitting my shock. As for forks anything up to 100mm will be fine. They came with SIDS @ 80MM travel i'm running some pace at 90mm.

I've just finished servicing my I-drive on my XCR2000 as it was knocking a little, think it only needed tightening but I was interested in how all worked, so a degrease and clean and regrease has made it feel much nicer...

I would love to move on to a GT STS XCR 1000 or 2000 next though...

Has anyone put discs on an early XCR using adaptors?
