Absolutely gutted I had to sell my Overbury's Cross Fell recently due to skintness  especially as I have a matching Andy Powell tourer from the same era so now looking to re-build but something slightly different...

So looking for an 80's mtb /frame and forks or even just a frame...

Ideally like this: Steel frame, in old school road sizing (so square and large-ish like 21" seat tube 21.5" top tube). Slack angles welcome, 531 lugged welcome, ratty paint welcome, fillet brazing welcome too

Thanks!!

PS if anyone is building a 27" wheel road bike I have some nice but in need of tlc 1960's alloy ones with new tyres that I can give u for postage.

:xmas-big-grin:

Re:

88 Scott Sawtooth in 21-22" size....very 80s, very steel, very slack, very U brakey. Rolling chassis.

My 1988 Rockhopper Comp in my signature. PM me if interested as I don't often pop in this section.

Re: 80's Steel frame / whole bike wanted

Thanks for all replies so far! Gonna narrow down my search to lugged or fillet brazed frames, also any frames with 'reynolds type' fork crowns (basically tandem forks) out there?

Re: 80's Steel frame / whole bike wanted

i have a rare albuch kotter racing team steel frame and forks with 52cm seat tube (center bb to center top tube) and 56cm top tube (center steerer tube to center seat tube), including indestructible primax headset, shimano bb with huge balls and a xt u-brake which is situated behind/under the bb. chain stay is cromed, maybe all the frame underneath the 80s black/white/silver/lilac-splatter-color.
