1989 Bianchi Super Grizzly

Dirt Disciple
A very old and dear friend passed away suddenly some years ago, when his family cleaned out his home to sell it, they gave away every thing he had, I got the bike.
To the best of my knowledge the only place it was ridden is Mount Tamalpais (Mt Tam for short)
It's much too big for me, I can't really ride it, but I have it and unless someone can convince me otherwise it's staying in my garage until I die.
I miss you Dan.

Really sorry for your loss

I love Bianchis in general, super nice Super Grizz. I remember when the ads came out for the Super Grizz, it looked amazing. To bad it's not the all Celeste green version but a very cool black with Celeste splatter and cables. The Super Grizz was their top offering with XT components.

I'd try keeping it as original as possible with a tidy cleanup as @vtwinvince mentioned

Nice memory and memento - I’d give it a complete overhaul
I’m partial to Bianchi myself and it would be lovely to see it gleaming

just to increase a bit the motivation for the overhaul, that's how it looked in the '89 brochure:

Dan was in marketing. He was in T-shirts, then was hired by Bill Graham (Then BGP after the death of BG) then he moved on to Rita Barela productions. Don't know what you all know about marketing but they are always trying to one up each other in their gifts and swag. Dan was promoting Bianchi bikes for BG about 1989, This bike was a marketing gift from Bianchi marketing to Dan O'Hara. The bike is as it came from them except the tires which were rotted.
Oh, and it was new then, lol.
Edit: I forgot, it also had a pink Bianchi lycra seat cover
