My computer seems a bit lardy these days and was surprised to see it running 55 process's at the same time when I looked in task manager, is this abnormal? Only really use it for the net and itunes.

If you havent installed anything new in the time that you was happy with it to the time yyou aint happy then its time to run a virus scan and spyware check 55 aint a lot though about average windows runs a lot in the background and thats what the process tab tells you is running in background a good place to see what is running in process is the process library at http://www.processlibrary.com/ this will allow you to decide if to stop it running or not. to stop it running you permanently you can run msconfig but only do this if you know what you are doing

also try running a disk defrag and disk cleanup as this is another reason computers start to run slow as no one ever does them and like our bikes computers need regular service

Cheers cb

Ran some of the scan programs from that site. Sometimes think the aol browser might be a bit slow too, keep meaning to make the move to firefox. AOL browser just seems to hang sometimes.

you might also want to check what start ups by going to start - run - then typing in "msconfig" - should give you some info and allow you to stop the items you dont need
