Winter bike

With the help of a local powder coater I turned a spare road frame into a winter bike with mudguards. The components are a bit of a mix of bits which were in my spares box.

White frame - before. Green frame - after.

The chainstays are a bit too short to be ideal for mudguards but I managed to squeeze in 8mm mudguard clearance over 28mm Schwalbe Marathon tyres

Like that a lot! I had a similar colour powdercoat on a Ribble frame that I used for a bit. I'll see if I can dig out a pic...

Thank you for the kind comments. I chose the colour because it reminded me of a Mercian 531 frame which was my only bike through most of the 80s.

It is always good to find a use for spare components. I normally build my own wheels but Ribble offered Campagnolo hub Fulcrum wide rim cyclocross wheels for £115, which is less than I pay for a pair of rims.
