Worst Bike I Ever Had

This Mark 2 Chopper

Brakes: awful
3 speed: good while it lasted
Saddle: rubbish foam, okay for the shops
Riding position: Demon, loved it!

We have a similar bike in the States (I believe we were the first with the chopper design). The Schwinn Stingray

Puch Free Spirit, loved it and hated it in equal measures.

but that example looks very nice, Silver colour looks good with lots of shiny-shiny going on, nice seat, cool how the crankset guard kind of matches the cassette/spoke guard (Chopper ? ) & I think the stem shifters always look great on any bike

Had all three in succession. All amazingly cool and amazingly shite looking back. Chopper went in favour of my Arena that you could do distances on.

I think I asked in recently what was the connection with the Chopper mk1 & a set of darts..............the answer being -

If at a secondary school in the UK when the Chopper came out, If you chose Metalwork as a subject, one of the tasks was making something on a Lathe which involved - turning/knurling/drill & tapping. Up to the Chopper release, everyone & their dog made a set of Darts..........along came the Mk1 & it all changed ................Ally gear knobs everywhere - there were some beauts`
