Wiggins' hour record - tonight - streamed free on YouTube

Re:

I have never been a fan of Bradley Wiggins as a chap but that was absolutely stunning, complete class, ranking up with leading out Cavendish on the Champs Elyesee while in yellow.

Re:

Well done awesome ride, shame he didn't break 55km but as usual British weather buggered it up. Total legend and a proper cool dude.

Great ride from a classy rider. Not usually a big fan as he can be or come across a bit hot or cold, but have always had the utmost respect for his acheivements. It was shown live on SKY and we watched it wishing him to do it successfully.
Very well done, brilliant ride.

Re:

I didn't even know he was doing it, so out of touch am I !

I think he's great TBH, well obviously, he is. He has a personality, not just a robotic rider who seems devoid of emotion, or his own mind.
I must say though, I was a bit disappointed by his seemingly sulking at Flanders when riding for someone else, but was right on it at Roubaix. Just a flip side of his personality I guess.

I'm so pleased he got the record, as it's a really positive way to end his racing career, and hope it stands for a long time.
Also, thank goodness he got rid of that beard! Really didn't suit him IMO. Not a fan of tats either, but his choice.
So is he a team manager now?

Pity Dowsett's coach doesn't see it the same way, some fairly disparaging words from his camp tonight. Thought the attempt was metronomic to the point of it being clinical - not many riders could ride in such a controlled way. superb.

He's set up the wiggins team to bring on young riders and get them some hefty exposure no doubt; plus the advantage of having connections at sky & rapha - a marketing mans dream as is seen by the price of the replica wiggins team kit!!

Great to see Indurain there to see it also http://www.cyclingnews.com/news/indurai ... s-a-legend

Re:

So a SKY development squad then. Good idea. I think that the Dutch have the same idea , with Rabobank as sponsors.
Don't understand Dowsett's coach from what you say. :? His backgroung is in track cycling. What does he expect? Surely sour grapes.
Yes, good to see Indurain, a humble champion, a favourite of mine for that reason. Not sure ho the other fella was though :?
