Why do we delude ourselves?

i'm exactly the same, bought my c16r as a ride to work commuter when i worked in a shop but then when i changed jobs i decided it was to nice to leave outside to get rusty so i bought the aluminium o frame off scant to do a frame swap so it wouldn't rust and now that has deore/lx/xt mix with xc717 rims, maxxis tyres, syncros stem and a respray!! and i never even used a part off the c16r in the end! now i have a spare(! :D ) c16r, should i sell it? no! it's "precious!" oh and i've just got some xtr parts for the "o" aswel! which leaves me with a dilemma, what do i do with the brakes off the o? sell them? no! buy another project!!

and my secret project will be collected on monday! another one for the collection! :D rubbing hands with glee!!! :D :D

This is the first place I log into in the morning at work - to hell with office emails, I need my bike fix!

I'm not as bad with the 'Bay, I can keep off there for, oooo, 4, maybe 5 hours at a time during the day? But here..... its got a strange subconscious draw, keeps us all coming back for more...

Its fappin' great

Yep! Why! :D

I was ok really from college-work-uni: crap old car, knackered od (now) retro Marin, and untidy Dyno Compe to smoke about.

Its recent, over the past 8 years.

Now 7 project cars, couple on back burner, one going, and one on the flame getting muchos trick bits - originally intended to be a do it all on a budget..

Bikes, well after modestly tidying up the old Marin, I sold it and went modern with the Identiti to the tune of a lot of money, I needed something rough and simple to go to shops on.

And wound up with a bright Orange  oh so descreet BMX

now :
- Full suss in build - budget but still dissapearances from salary :)
- Fox retro - doubled budget but still modest
- Identiti, want to rebuild next year on pimp ass Commencal..
- Raleigh Apex, bought as donor - now project! :D

Guess what?

- Now have my peelers on a retro creative project, thanks for that Peak-ers  8)
- and even my matt black anon non emotional commuter, i want to get it in to road race spec. 8)

No hope is there!?

Count me in, I have 3 retro bikes built, one frame "waiting" and tomorrow I'm off to pick up a "find" (watch this space). And it is not just the retro stuff with me, I have similar issues with modern bikes too. I've said it here before, frames are cheap, but then ......

Today I counted I actually own 3 frames with 6" or more rear wheel travel, and the highest point witin 200 kilometers is 150 metres (and that's probably even optimistic), LOL. In my defense, I did put one of them up for sale in the classifieds. But ist's such a sweet ride I know I'll not like seeing it go.

Is it just me or is this thread is showing signs of 'Bike-a-holics Anonymous' ?

Enjoy!!
