Who made these parts from 1991 GT Team Avalanche

I picked up a sweet GT today, and it came with a chainring guard and a seatpost that I have never seen before (I searched a bit on ebay and google). The gurad is maked 'Bear Claw', and it is a 110 BCD. The post is marked 27.0 at the top and Japan at the bottom, it is steel, removable 'faceplate' with opposing direction bolts.

Any ideas on either? Thanks

Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Are the barends (internal wedge type) control tech?

seatpost looks very much like a tioga i just bought
