Suntour XC/XC Pro Seat Posts deserve a mention.

Definitely better designed than any of the Shimano DX/XT/XTR ones and probably better than most other ones too (Syncros/USE/Controltech/Strong/etc etc) Never tried IRD though.

I'll second that, the design is now pushing 30 years old, it is still comparatively light with no nooks and crannies to collect mud, smooth adjusting, clamps firmly, a reliable friend...all you could possibly want from a seatpin

just has to be the XT M739 Rear mech for me, i just dont think there has even been a prettier or more functional rear deraillieur ever, hardworking hardwearing, keeps it looks, cleans up well, top notch i think
