What is you favorite vintage MTB component?

I'd have to agree with the m732 thumbies

The Shimano M735 pedals.

They seem to be the one "retro" item that continually ends up on my newer bikes. I just love em. 8)
I'm sure there are plenty of new flat pedals available, but my feet are spiritually in tune with the 735s so I keep moving them around so they're on whatever bike I happen to be riding more often.

Two items really stand out to me, Red / White / Blue bullseye's and Campag brake lever!.. YUM!!

never ridden them & have no experience of them but i love the look of girvin vector forks.

they look like they were built in a shed by an eccentric engineer & will fail at any moment but thats the charm of them i think.

they ride really well....i had a pair on my san andreas a while ago...wouldnt mind them back actually...

I love the spider on the back of the M737 and M900 cassettes...

Someone put a lot of thought into those, and they're strangely beautiful!

I'll get me coat.

 i know what you are saying. i have a M900 on my bike currently, it is indeed a beautiful piece of engineering.

they look cool from behind when they are being pedaled also, as the spider spins over
