Paying people to lose weight

I am going to emigrate  ......but will now go to mac d's and pile on the pounds to earn some money

emigrate if you wish but not many countries have better system than the uk , a few european countries and that is about it . when you compare how much tax we pay in the uk and the benefits we get( or could get ) it is not all bad .

Yes but that is just the point....I get no benefits and if I can not pay my mortgage for any reason, being self employed, I will lose my house and everything, the emphasis should be on people that work or contribute and not on people who sit on their buts popping kids out and abusing the system.
This is a fact and can not be argued with.

Maybe you just left them in such a mess that they haven't recovered yet
Afterall if it wasn't for for its own advantage why would have Britain colonized half of the world?
A bit like immigration nowadays in the UK, do you really think that would happen without British businesses, services and consumers benefiting of cheap (nevertheless taxed) labour?

If we didnt colonise them someone else would have.
After all, who wants infrastructure/government/sanitation? Not India if the last 60 odd years of undoing British work are anything to go by.
Anyone watch 'An Idiot abroad' the other night?...
Are we seriously suggesting that the Commonwealth games shambles is to do with the British pulling out of India a lifetime ago?
Pi$$ up & brewery spring to mind.

We need to stop apologising for supposed suppression cased by colonisation 100+ years ago.

And your other point of cheap labour from EU citizens, yes, I do really think it would still happen without cheap labour. We are part of the EU and our doors are therefore open (more so than nearly all other EU countries). Standard of living is relatively high in the UK, and prospects of work are good. Where would you head if living in poverty eleswhere in Europe?
Cheap labour prices the UK citizens out of work, as they are no longer able to afford the cost of living (or earn more than benefits would entitle them).

except that in the uk you still will have a chance of getting a council house and some sort of help , , in a lot of places you would get nothing .

sure some people abuse the system , and the emphasis should be on stopping those people getting away with it .

Here here keep it steel8) you are right as usual....every time we pull out of somewhere they promptly undo all our work just like they will do in afghanistan after the yanks pull out......waste of time..........
I have seen footage of water holes dug in villages in the third world where the villagers move two miles away from the well so they can "walk two miles to get water" it seems they prefer to do this,it is a losing battle.....for instance why would you have eight children while knowing that each one will be infected with hiv at birth :?: And if you only have resources for one :?:

Let me tell you a story......my aunt lived in london for years and when she moved back to norfolk she had to go on the council list.............seven years she waited and is still waiting,on about anglia last year there was a polish family who had only been in the country six months and they had a council flat in our town already..........where is that fair, they had never paid into the system like my aunt had for near twenty years and she is still living in second rate accomodation now.........the system is unfair.....period.

That is so true. If the wife was out of work in her home country of Burma then you get no help if you have no job. Like in many '3rd world' countries the only help is from your family. In fact even in some 'modern' countries like Japan the help you get is limited to only those who have no family. We are very very lucky to live in the GB.
