Saturday:
Planned off road ride first thing in morning….wake up bright and early….lovely weather….discuss the days plans with Mrs GT….we both agree there are various bits and pieces around the house that need doing….ride put on hold for the moment….weather turns wet and windy….end up doing 1hr on the TT in the afternoon….don’t feel so bad about it actually
Sunday:
Stunning weather….almost clear skies and plenty of warmth….set off on the Avalanche for a hard off road blast….surprisingly dry trails under my wheels….zap up the first climb….fell really good today….into the woods and bunny hop over a log…slight :shock: moment as my foot almost disengages its SPD....damn, must get round to changing the cleats….out onto the farm tracks and flick into the big ring….my brow now feels damp as the sun beats down….push on and work the climbs….an hour and a half into the ride I fly round a corner and a snarling dog shoots out from under a hedge….I lock up my wheels promptly soil myself….dog v Pickle moment discussed here….I ride off substantially shook up….calm down and begin to enjoy the trails again….see the trials boys on the edge of the woods….nod of respect and “alright” to each other….back home to a warm shower and throbbing leg....most eventful ride of my life :roll:
