Wednesday Baiku

Smooth Baiku

Still light. Just. Sun sinking below the South Downs. Warm too. And dry. Clip out. Perfect. Quiet. Alone. Peaceful. The best feeling. Space. Still. Clip back in. Wind noise. Midges. Tyre rumble. Breathe hard. Spin.. Good tyre choice. Warm down. Dinner. Apprentice. Bed. Best ride of my life.

I think not knowing what a baiku is, is probably more like enlightenment than ignorance.

We made it up. It's basically a poem like expression of a ride. Like Japanese poetry Haiku, buit without all the rules....and about bikes.

but it does encompas the poetic stylings of the beat poets eg Kerouac etc (I think I should stop drinking now)

Thursday evening Baiku:

Going anywhere near my bike seems off limits....poorly son....wife and daughter going out....((sigh)) warm sunny evening too ....son decides he wants a bath.... :idea: ....open double conservatory doors....bring TT in....position it so I can keep an eye on my boy in the bath....combine riding with parental duties ....not my longest ride but keeps the legs turning
