The only point I will respond to is about it being irrelevant.
Maybe I was being a tad glib, but from my persepective as someone who very much lives for the moment, enjoys the moment, and doesnt necesarily worry too much about what is lying round the corner (that said, I save, I plan, and do have pensions etc), I meant that its irrelevant to the now. I know that "now" is as culmination of what went before, but its just that I have seen some people spend so long harking back to when times were better, that they failed to enjoy the greatness that is today... I'm not being specific at all, just referencing various people I've met along the way
