WARNING DONT BUY FROM NUMBER1BIKEBITS ON EBAY AKA DAVE HINDE

There's a huge thread on them on Bikeradar. Total pirates, and it's not like there aren't plenty of reputable sellers!

There seems to be a lot about this organisation on a number of other websites and although there are a huge number of satisfied customers (for example the 13,000 positive feedbacks on eBay) there seem to be a far too large number who have been treated really badly. This for example doesn't make for very happy reading http://www.lostteam.com/blog/2007/07/da ... eview.html

There was also an adjudication against them http://www.asa.org.uk/asa/adjudications ... n_id=38390

They still have a two page ad in Cycling every week though.

In my 6 years on eBay I can honestly say that in general Powersellers give much worse service than 'normal' sellers.

Generally they are too busy and cannot cope with the volumes of stuff they are shifting and simply cannot keep their eye on the ball so to speak, so it all goes to crap.

Approaching 700 items a month is a LOT of selling and would take your life over totally.

I'm a Powerseller and have been for ages but I never display the logo cos it puts people off IMHO. I shift around 150-200 parcels a month AND work full time and I run my ass off keeping it together (but I never let anyone down....ever)

I'm not sympathising with that dude, just offering an opinion.....plus if I saw his feedback I would never buy anything off him in the first place.

I work in outdoorstore and keep our webshop.

We send about 30-40 parcels a day, and that full day job for 3 persons.
We have one at customer service, one who packs and I´m keeping site.
And it´s just enough... :)

Damn right about typing the name in google bikeperv, i've never seen so many complaints about shoddy service. Ta for advice, they sound like a right bunch of clowns

I had trouble with Number1bikebits last year on ebay, I bought disk brakes from them and they never arrived.
I phoned up on numerous occassions and the staff just sounded like they didn't give a toss about my purchase. :x
I eventually got a replacement set of brakes but to be quite honest I don't think they sent me any in the first place.
I left them negative feedback and in spite they left me undeserved negative feedback!
I will never buy anything from them again.

They should be renamed number1bikepricks!
