wanted - heresy !!!! - a road/hybrid frame

....for commuting I use a 20 inch TREK - was in a big crunch (motorcyclist crossed a red light and took me out) a couple of years ago and thought the frame was OK, but friday night 'Ping!': driveside chainstay parted company with the dropout and not repairable. The bike is festooned with choice retro bits (onza chillpills, middleburns, XT thumbies etc) and need a 700c frame to hang it all on ... anything out there? Marin? Specialised? HELP! ebay a desert re nice hybrid frames....

Why not just get a road frame and fit a long stem if necessary?

thanks - yeah - tried this but all the road bikes on ebay are 500 quid piranellos or 50p iron bedsteads....very little in between
