Best not tell anyone if you do weld it, you'll end up wading through an avalanche of snarky Retro-posts if you do!

The actual welding and gas shrouding shouldnt be too much of a problem, whereas the control of temperature post weld and in particular the annealing or normalisation stage would be harder for me to achieve given the limitations of the premises I had in mind for the job.
Factor in the fact that the frame is just too darn big for me and I have to retract my application. :(
As the dragons say on that tv show "I'm out".
Thanks tho Stevo, most entertaing thread. :D
Regards,
Dave.

Yes, it has turned out to be very 'interesting' hasn't it - on the one hand you have the guys who join in according to the spirit intended; and then you have the odd detractor or two who...

But anyway, the Government went to great expense to train my instinctive reactions to the assholes of this world out of me so now they just 'disappoint' me... :?

So as The Guv'nor said; back on track...

62 names in the hat so far... 8)

...and I'm off to Wales at six in the morning so if you see a metallic bronze Peugeot 107 loaded to the gunn'ls heading in that direction give us a wave...

Back next Saturday and the draw for the 'Frame of Doom' is on the Sunday - keep it real... :D

I'd like a number please, great karma Stevo :D

If the karma thread has excited this much interest - what will the build thread be like?!! (I have my pop riveter at the ready ;))

Just had a thought  - you could get a 10mm drill bit and turn it into a Swiss cheese; then it would be even bl**dy lighter and the repairs wouldn't show...

...and if you read 'Jones' contribution in conjunction with the link in 'dyna-ti's you'll be well equipped to make an informed decision on what to do with the frame if your name comes out first...
