Ok, so here is a question for you then -

two slices of bread with filling constitues one sandwich, right. So, if you cut said sandwich in half, what do you have?

One sandwich thats cut in half or two sandwiches?

This has been going on for ages bewteen myself and my desk buddy at work!!

The size of the bread doesnt make it a sandwich only the fact there are 2 pieces of bread with a filling in between.

Cut it into 4 and you have 4 sandwiches

But the answer is both :D

Milk.

If you fill the glass all the way then drink some = half empty.

If you only fill it half way = half full.

If you make one sandwich and cut it = one sandwich.
If you fold the bread over to make a half (lazy) its one sandwich = 2 sandwiches from 2 pieces of bread.

Fool. :D Pita has no such dilemma - as if you eat the closed end first, your chili sauce will fall out.

you have one round of butties.

one round of toast is one slice, a round of butties is made of 2 slices of bread & filling placed together in the traditional manner.

should this round of butties be cut in half, across the vertical edges (when looking at the profile of the bread as it sat in the loaf) then you still have a round of butties. should these halves be cut in half (giving 4 small square butties) then you have 'party butties'

on the other hand, if you cut an entire round of butties corner to corner, you have just made a 'sandwich' if this so called sandwich is subsequently cut into 4 small triangular entities the whole thing becomes a 'posh sandwich' which should only ever be eaten if certain criteria are met. one, you are in the company of her majesty the queen or two, you are a friend of dorothy.

this is the law.

What about if you live off cake, like me? Does any of this matter then? How about a sandwiched cake (i.e. jam filling in a victoria sponge)?

Ive never understood this concept of "a round of butties"... they're bloody square for fooks sake, or traingular, but never round

Wrecks my head, it does
I need a lie down
