Trek Y build

The spins must have been heavy because you have a lot of light kit on that bike! It does look awesome with the spins though, I did use your weight list from the original bike and my biggest savings have been on the wheels and tyres, the tyres are only 465g each and the wheels aren’t too heavy! Maybe 22lb will be more realistic for mine but that will still be pretty impressive, but the pace forks are not exactly light, I was tempted with some manitou sx ti but for now I will stick with the pace for now!

A few little updates on the build!
Things have been moving along nicely just collecting parts and I think I just about have everything ordered or on the way to finish the bike 😬

I did decide to go for a full carbon finishing kit but finding retro carbon and then trusting 20 year old carbon is another thing lol, but I think I have found the parts I need.
I also picked up some lovely avid brakes which looked mint but on arrival the lacquer had really tarnished so it was a choice between keep the logos or polish and I like shiny. 🤩
I also took a Deda seatpost of my cx bike and sanded the decals off and re cleared the post.
And as much I love the painted frame against chrome rear end I think it still needs a bit of bling so I’m also going to do some little gold touches too. 0C14AB81-025D-4A18-ABBE-D628678D8A4E.jpeg CC3BFA25-A37A-4259-87EB-EF1AFEC15815.jpeg D579F9F1-5048-4540-B422-1C056F9977F6.jpeg

Had a day off today so I thought I would have a bit of time on the bike, so I decided to have a go at making some decals for my crank arms and the avid brake levers, this was obviously incredibly awkward trying to make decals so small but I’m really happy with the results.
My XTR shifters have turned up along with the carbon stem today too 😎 54CF7271-8619-48F7-9EE8-7BBBC37D135D.jpeg

And she’s finished I’m really happy with this build and it actually rides great too! I was going to build it full on weight weenie but then I picked up the white tyres, white grips and the carbon matrix stem too which were all a bit heavier than what I had planned, so I changed a few more bits to add a bit of style! but it’s still a very respectable weight at 23.6lb
