Today's Ride

Just shy of 25 miles , the longest the emotional distort monkeys have ever done and possibly my longest since surgery . A tad too warm in Whitby at the outset but cooled off nicely .
Robin Hoods Bay to Ravenscar was about perfect us in all respects . The girl needs a a shorter stem and possibly riser bars and started to complain about a sore back otherwise they'd have given me a proper run for my money 😀

What...in this heat. Mad dog and Englishmen!
Unusual bike, what is it?
It's this, another victim of my tendency turn every bike i own into some form of drop bar graveller:

Ventured forth at lunchtime to take advantage of semi-cloudy, dry and almost-warm conditions, with the added bonus of a lack of wind. Followed pretty much the same route as last time: a good rolling stretch of tarmac followed by some gentle climbing on gravel, then back again on the tarmac.

It wasn't super-challenging and was rather uneventful, but I'll take it -- when 'eventful' can mean a number of evils. And were there just a few birds around that foretell of spring? I think so . . . even if the forecast is for some sub-zero nights this week.

Those hills in the background are more formidable than they look -- thick native forest with just the odd fire trail through them. A couple of the local bikepackers venture up there in the summer -- we're planning a bit of an expedition when the weather's a bit warmer.

Some quality pics the last few posts.

This morning, thick grey cloud, humid, 17 degrees, almost no wind, just a pfff from the S. Whilst the rest of the island fries, it's calm here. Side note, I was in Exeter yesterday with blues skies and 27 degrees and it was only when you got past Truro that the sky blanket took over.

Legs felt fantastic post Sunday race 👍
